Our camp counselors are the heart of the camper experience. Counselors serve primarily as mentor figures, supporting campers socially, emotionally, and physically throughout the full session. They spend the majority of their time alongside campers, building trust, modeling resilience, and helping students grow in confidence through shared outdoor challenges.
Counselors must be highly outdoors-oriented and experienced in high-adventure activities such as hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and climbing. They help lead and support these activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and encouragement.
In addition to their mentoring role, counselors collaborate with our marketing team by capturing, editing, and posting a few short reels and photos each week that reflect daily camp life and adventures. Counselors must hold current First Aid and CPR certifications and be available in person for the entire session to ensure consistency, safety, and strong camper relationships.

Our language therapists are the academic cornerstone of our camps. Each therapist works in person with a consistent group of four students for the full 5.5-week session, meeting Monday through Friday each morning until noon. This daily structure allows therapists to build strong relationships, track progress closely, and provide truly individualized instruction.
Therapists must be trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach (OGA) or an equivalent structured literacy program. Instruction is designed specifically for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, with pacing and content adjusted in real time based on student needs. Availability for the entire session is essential to maintain continuity, trust, and meaningful academic growth.
This model ensures students receive intensive, evidence-based literacy instruction while still fully participating in the outdoor and community-based camp experience each afternoon.
